Finally micropayment: Börsenmedien AG and Satoshipay plan, content for sale by click

The Berlin micropayment provider Satoshipay convinced Börsenmedien AG. The editor of the shareholder, for example, buys into the startup and promises that readers can buy premium content in the future. Stellar Lumens, the currency that uses Satoshipay, shoots up steeply whether the message.

Excellent news from Satoshipay. With Börsenmedien AG, another media company is buying in the Berlin startup. The media house is primarily known for its magazine “The Shareholder”. How much the 5 percent, which Börsenmedien AG now has on Satoshipay, has not emerged from the press release.

Another part of the message is much more interesting: The two companies “intensively work on integrating the Satoshipay payment solution into the platforms of Börsenmedien AG.“The users will be able to pay individual premium content with the Satoshipay wallet with just one click in the future.“In the background, the“ blockchain technology, which sends payments without intermediary and with transaction costs of well below 1 CT directly from the user’s end device to the rights holder.“The partnership is supported by the Stellar Foundation. It provides the Satoshipay users a free starting credit from Stellar Lumens (XLM), which they can use for the content of Börsenmedien AG.

Bernd Förtsch, the founder and managing director of the media house, explains what has moved him to this step: “Contents are either financed free of charge and by advertising or for a fee – then readers have to complete subscriptions or deal with Paywalls”. There is a gap between these two options: “Extremely cheap and comfortable content to be acquired.“The Satoshipay software is“ the Missing Link that closes this gap.“It makes it possible to place digital paying with lumen as a button on a website via API. A user who is registered only has to click, for example to finish an article. The system can become the basis of any conceivable nature of micro and nanopayment.

Börsenmedien AG could only be the beginning. Because at the end of January, Satoshipay found a much bigger partner: Axel Springer SE, one of the largest media houses in Europe. Springer and Satoshipay want to bring Paid Content together, paid with Stellar, to the reader. However, further details are not known.

It could work: readers get a starting credit in Lumen to reduce the hurdles for starting, and can then see what it is like to pay for content. Someone has to start and a stock market publisher could be well suited for this. If it goes to the Springer media, it could exceed the “Tipping Point”-and make it normal for online readers to buy individual articles.

For Stellar, the currency on which Satoshipay runs, this is of course a great message. The course rose from about 2180 Satoshi (8 cents) each XLM last Thursday to almost 2800 Satoshi (10 cents). While the other currencies move sideways, the lumen has risen by 20 percent.
